Pamela Sands
My name is Pamela Sands, I am a proud native of Atlanta! My choice of HBCU was Tennessee State University,where I met the love of my life, James Sands. From our union we have four children, (India, James, Myles, and Caleb), We are proud “first” time grandparents to our four year old granddaughter Miss August Naveah, the apple of our eyes. I marticulated to Central Michigan University for my Masters in Educational Administration and a Specialist Degree in Leadership.
In my 20 plus years in the teaching arena I continue to touch and mold the most precious jewels of many parents. I motivate, encourage, and elevate students to their highest potential. I cannot do this alone, therefore I seek the support of my partners “parents.” I am often reminded that “our” children, and grandchildren are our most important investments. We get out what we put in. So “invest” big and often. Together we can produce; doctors, engineers, computer scientist, mayors, governors, lawyers, senators, entrepreneurs, presidents, and much more.
I was always taught that reading was fundamental and the gateway to “higher” learning. My parents encouraged me to read and have books of my own. Growing up some of my favorite book characters were and still are Amelia Bedelia, Junie B. Jones, and Ramona Quimby. I encourage the students that I teach to read these timeless classics as well.
I believe in building “great” character in children and with that comes respect, honesty, and hard work. Because we are the 21st century “Movers” and “Shakers!” Let's work together by communicating and supporting your child to do the same.
